T O P I C R E V I E WSparklingSagDear GW and AllI woke up this morning feeling very upset. I had a dream with my ex bf, where we met at a party and reunited, slept together, then the next moment he is telling me I meant nothing. It was a reliving of how we ended everything in April. It felt so real when I woke up this morning. Earlier that day I had read a newspaper article about narcisstic men, and many of the traits suited my ex. Perhaps the article triggered the dream and rejection all over again? How do we truly get over something? Since my ex I have picked men who are unavailable or just looking for fun because I didn't want to get hurt and that was ok whilst I was healing. I am ready now but it seems my dreams are getting it out of my system or reminder of what I don't want.An unsure SparklingGypseeWindWhile it may be uncomfortable for you, perhaps you could look to your dreams as a guide or learning tool.If you keep choosing the same kind of man, then it would make sense that your dreams reflect what happened with the ex because the dreams are trying to warn you that the same thing could happen again. As far as getting over someone. *sigh* If I knew that answer I'de tell the world for free and we'd all be happy, huh. The only thing I can tell you there is that time heals. And if you are in contact (I don't know if you are or not) with him still, that healing process is going to be stilted. It's like picking at a scab. It can't heal if you keep reopening it.I hope to see you moving on and finding someone who deserves you, Sparkling.
